Oh my god!!!! WOW! I love how this author writes their characters. I feel like the “previously cold noble dude taking interest in his curious reincarnated partner” is a frequent trope rarely executed well. But their chemistry! I like that its explicitly acknowledged that she has experience as well. Super enjoyable character writing.
@degenerateafro The duke said that the countess was the one who raised him, also if I recall correctly he married Chloe exactly because she didn't have any kind of political power. I'm guessing the duke wanted to break free from something, but we shall see.
Cale I swear to all that's unholy, if you don't stop being such a moment killer, I'm gonna tie you down and feed you to the single maids in the mansion.
what a sex predatory- so he likes the fact that she doesn't want his sexual advances
shoujo manga/just like rapist & rape porn/ once again fetishist a woman's clear disdain on sexual aggressive as "attractive
because picking someone who clearly doesn't want to fuck you is somehow better then finding a consenting partner ?
@blazing_boz I think you're reading too much into this one. I can understand wherein a lot of shoujo manga rape culture isn't treated sensitively enough. In this case, though, I don't think it's anything like what you're saying.
They're both in the same mindset in this story. He thought that she was being shy and not forward, not that she doesn't want his sexual advances and therefore that turned him on. Yes, he misread her but it doesn't mean he was being aggressive about it. You also have to take into consideration their timeline/setting. It's not so strange for the husband to make a move first as forward as he was especially when they've been getting along so well (well I guess you could say this about any couple that's in a good relationship). Mind you also, she wasn't particularly against it as shown when she goes to bed. She was taken aback and was slightly confused at the moment it happened but not 'disdainful' of the action.
