I really love this slow tension building between her and the duke, especially since we got a lot of development for Chloe in the beginning. The writing in this is surprisingly strong for a manhwa in this genre.

at the same time i hope the get to porking soon. lord you could cut the tension in the last few chapters with a KNIFE.

It's way too early to say that the father was a good one. The fact is what he did may not qualify as physical abuse but could pretty easily be considered emotional abuse. It's likely our impression of the father is going to drop more.

Ofc this is a romance so all it did was set up a broody heart for Chloe, but it doesn’t stop the previous duke from being a garbage person. His son would still have been a success without making him repress his emotions. Thank goodness he died.
