'My wife' may sound more endearing but isn't the point that the duke isn't that kind of person? Even if he's opening up I'd say the distant 'wife' is more fitting.

I personally prefer “my wife”, because just “wife” feels a bit cold? (Although it did match Alphonse back when he didnt love her), but calling her “my wife” seems more fitting now especially since he IS insanely in love with her (not to mention kinda possessive and jealous hahahaha).
