The annulment proceedings are going to be legendary when/if she finally snaps just from the first two chapters and lists out everything. As things stand she could get one,take all of the money back, prove her virginity in court, get whatever is left of his money as restitution, ruin the careers of every servant and maid in the house, and ruin the honour of that dude so thoroughly that he's not going to get a chance to fall upwards a second time. I can barely imagine how he could dig the hole any deeper.
