@gladiatorua it’s not her family it’s just her father wanting to marry her off, without the rumours she has about her her father would still have married her off for the same reasons - to curry political favour, presumably he was waiting til the duke (a person high in social standing since he’s below the king in rank) came and asked for money and then he could use his daughter to have them in his debt. Or maybe he knows she’ll kick ass and basically take charge of the dukedom which works to his advantage I don’t actually know.
