@Aten Not really. While it's theoretically possible to create a plate gauntlet that's finely articulated enough to actually armor the inside of the hand, the cost would probably be obscene, even compared to a full suit of regular plate, and he's basically living on his family's charity. A more likely option would be those extremely fine mail gloves used by butchers, though that begs the question of how thick the metal has to be in order to negate the effects of his curse.
