Daleth has the scars on her face becuase of her older sister
Said older sister has put Alice's mother "Sharon" in a eternal slumber for some reason
And so Daleth requires Zain to wake her up

We can also speculate that said sister who cursed Sharon, has also cursed the Duke .So basically she responsible for wrecking Alice's life

Also just wondering, has the Duke's name been revealed anywhere these past chapters, just curious?

The biggest takeaway of this chapter is that Daleth's sister is one such crazy bitch that even she herself couldn't forgive, and that she's responsible for what became of the Duke and Alice's lives, and her mother. And now Daleth is forced to take responsibility.

Imma call her crazy bitch until her motives are revealed, but it doesn't look like my opinion would improve much.
