I mean, if she had to choose, I would think that the obvious pick would be the guy that instantly developed a head over heels crush on her. The alternative is the guy that sardonically teases and threatens her, like, 5 times within an hour of meeting.

To be honest, I'm kinda struggling to follow the logic of this story. Our MC is really, really concerned with not going to the empire, but because she's lying left and right to get out of it, they're retorting with solutions I don't really get.

And their sudden attraction to her in general as if there's something they're not telling her is puzzling too-not to mention a little creepy.

However, 'Egbert Razanate' is the name of the emperor, but he doesn't resemble 'Prince Egbert' from the flashback. Rather, the boy does resemble Sidis (who she gets engaged to).

Did Emperor Egbert and Sidis switch places? If so, why doesn't she notice the switch... or even recognize Sidis (assuming Sidis is the boy she saved - the same kid who hung out with the young 'Emperor Egbert')? Is she somehow missing some details from her memories? Who is 'Egbert'?

People seem confused, but based on the first 2 chapters Lise, in her former life, had a duty to guard child Egbert (the now Emperor) and died while protecting child Sidis during an attack. Nothing strange about it. Sidis and Egbert must have been together during the attack.

And the title can translate as: "The Emperor's Court Lady is currently being sought after as wife". It does not specify by whom she is sought after. Official English titles of these kinda novels (before proper localisation) tend to be weird anyhow.

And semi-spoiler from chapter 3 (Lize technically already mentioned it):

Lize doesn't remember the name of the child she saved, and so doesn't connect Sidis to the boy from back then.
