It's reasonable that MC isn't sure if Sidis actually has feelings for her. He said that he would win her over because she has magic. So she's been thinking that he is doing just that - seducing her so that she'll want to stay and he can marry someone with magic. This is the first time he's said something so intense so now she's getting a clue.
