Apparently the world has some kind of guardians that defend itself from destruction, kind of like Counter Guardians of Gaia. While humans are not protected they keep on triggering it leading to the creation of a hero. These heroes are the monster of the week/month/year that our lich mc kills every arc. Also the lich's hero comrade hates humans so she tried to remove the obstacle to unite them (demon king) for them to fight between themselves and eventually against the guardians of the world when the battle escalates.
