At that point you just got to take your chances with a bear hang when sleeping and hope the bear isn't determined enough.

Didn't understand what you tried to convey here? What must one do if the bear targets you?

@gr8g Ah guess I wasn't clear enough. What i meant was you use the tactic known as a bear hang which is basically where you tie your food up over a tree branch so it hangs in the air. Do this more than 100 ft away from your campsite and the bear will not attack you.

What i meant by determined enough was that, while the bear hang reduces the chances of a bear getting into your stuff, a determined bear will still get into your stuff. But they will still never attack you. Since all they care about is your backpack.
