I would not have come across this if a friend hadn't recommended it. Seems like an example of a perfectly good manga that's flying way under readers' radar, despite winning at least one award(!).

Yeah, this manga completely flew across my radar . Despite all his quirks, the MC is really likeable. Seems like the raw is complete at 200 or so chapters, while only 40 or so chapters are currently translated. Also seems to be a sequel at 2020. Looking forward to read the rest in English.
