This has a lot going for it. The main drawback is that it edges into that sort of Korean-melodrama level of angst and gratuitous plot complications at times. But it doesn't get overwhelmed by that, and there's some great stuff--the MC is a great character, tough and snarky but fundamentally a good lass, the big dumb boy is totally sweet and you root for him like crazy, in fact the characterization is generally very good if sometimes infuriating. It hits some interesting social stuff on the way, makes you think a bit. The feelings are big, resolution is satisfying--it's a ride that'll stick in your mind.
