The Galactic Navy Officer Becomes an Adventurer

Every time he mentions the bugs, I get minor flashbacks to the first Starship Troopers.

Interesting read so far.

This pretty good... Not truck kun or teleport/summon, wish fulfilling too op character it does remind of ocean star.

Btw why gore tag? I am yet to see any real gore scenes

It's slightly bland, but having more effort than the average isekai in the setting is worth the rating. Novelty and setting are still more important than providing cheap thrills and romances to spoiled audiences.

Vary Star Ocean inspired. It’s nice to see an isekai approach that uses the universe it’s self in a less hand wavy way.
Most isekai don’t even touch the astronomical aspects of being on another planet, so it would be nice if they played that card more often.

... Isekai...
Isn't this story more about... other planet than other "worldy"?
But hey.... A new genre that I can accept :)

Surprisingly, this isn't bad. There's a decent setting with organic world-building, which is rare in isekai manga. The MC and his love interest aren't paper-thin stereotypes. There's an overarching plot that doesn't involve a harem (there is a harem tag for this manga, so I guess that won't last 😟). The MC is a bit OP, but it's within the realm of being reasonable.

15 chapters in, the MC isn't able to level a country yet, but I am concerned about future power creep. Also, there aren't levels, skills, or a status screen, which is great. It allows me to focus on the story rather than on the MC's giant epeen.

While this does meet the strict definition of 'isekai', I hesitate to identify it as such. It's not clear that the MC is from Earth. He's just a human from a sci-fi fantasy setting who crash lands on a world that's at the technological level of medieval Europe. Also, there's magic.

It's not bad overall, but it's certainly not a masterpiece. It's much better than an average isekai, and it didn't make me feel like I'm getting dumber while reading it. My greatest gripe is that the translation is definitely not done by a native English-speaker. This series is in serious need of a proofreader. Despite the questionable translation, I'm comfortable giving this a solid 7/10.

The title sounds like a weird combination but weirdly enough, it works. Even better than the usual average i got reincarnated isekai type.

15 Chapters so far

+ Decent or Good & Believeable Story Telling
- Kinda Slow pacing, inevitable & neccesary to built a proper worldbuilding
- Kinda feels become Generic on the later chapters IMO, but i still got expectations on how author would serve the story for the next chapters

I bet the apostle is one of Iris Conrad's Drone, looking for MC.

Also i'm kinda desperately want to see when the MC's party accidentally encounter their first stranded bug, or another survivor cladded in Space Marine Armor looking for MC.

Not really a spoiler because I haven't read the WN and the manga has barely touched on the subject but:
I almost suspect that the alien bugs have some deeper reason/grudge behind their actions. They acted very intelligently when attempting to take over that ship in the flashback unrelated to MC and hesitated to inflict harm. There's also the fact that this world our MC got trapped on has been completely overlooked by this bug race, though to be fair the same can be said for the human race.

@degernase the usual plot twist would make the bugs actually are ancient / evolved humans due to nanomachines.

Would be pretty refreshing if the bugs actually are real aliens
