The Gender of Mona Lisa - Vol. 1 Ch. 5 - Choice

It's a premise/fictional story. It doesn't necessarily reflect the author's opinion. I don't see it as a middle finger to the non-binary from the author.

Edit) So rereading things: Shiori says he will speed things up (have Hinase decide on a gender) [ch 3]. The USB that he gave to his brother [ch 2] probably had the paper on the Partial Mona Lisa syndrome which probably talks about the Polish kid [ch 5]. It's implied that Shiori look at the contents of the USB [ch 2], so it seems he knows that Hinase needs to choose a gender otherwise something bad will happen (death?) [ch 3, ch 5].

To the people in this thread saying they're just being forced to pick a sex - first of all, intersex people exist. And second of all, with how the world presented here is built, they basically are being forced to pick a gender on top of it, since apparently gender identity (desire?) influences what sex you end up with. Plus, we haven't seen any characters or any mentions of being one sex while staying a gender identity that isn't commonly correlated with that sex. They may be directly only being forced to pick a sex (out of two, even though there's also many intersex identities), but also very much indirectly their gender.

Well, that doctor has now violated two very important rules/laws. He should be fired and sued. Not telling a patient in a study the risks the study has is highly dangerous and unethical.

So there are no trans or gays in this fictional world? Since everyone is their desired gender once reaching a certain age?

This author is unintentionally based

@Darklight99

Go pick up a football

@smolbaka Med school college student here, our team won the University's football league, I was a left winger. Of course by that I mean actual football and not handegg the """""sport"""" Americans created to make themselves feel better because they can't play actual football. Sure do hope that's what you were referring to as well.

There are so many privileged people here who think that they can tell the author what to do.

What the creators made doesn't need to cater to your opinion. If you don't like it leave.

@smolbaka Yeah, I'm the mad one, sure sure. Go watch others play Handegg, the """sport""" where the point is for burly men to jump on each other and pin them down.

@Darklight99 I'm sitting here sippin my hot cocoa on a cold 56° morning here my friend I'm far from mad.

Just amused by your cute replies and honestly you're making my day.

@chaichan1

@smolbaka And I'm laying on my bed watching Daredevil season 3 and eating home-cooked meals.
Your replies are genuinely hilarious as well, looks like we're both entertaining each other then.

@smolbaka its just a story. Let the author write what they want, please don't make it out to be offensive when there's clearly no ill intent
