Don't they ever think of why someone might strike their young master? I guess it wouldn't be a cliché where it keeps escalating in power
(little punk gets slapped, senior steps in and gets killed, elder gets slapped silly, ancestor steps in just before finishing elder, mc gets help just before getting trapped/killed and in a matter of weeks finds some ancient heritage and assimilates it into mc's powers to become on par with ancestor, repeat with an older/bigger clan/family)

@maffo666 That's The Hunter in a nutshell. It somehow managed to get to 44 chapters of nothing but random people joining the fight because stupid reasons. You can count with one hand the number of panels where a vague attempt at plot was made.
