haha @Heath i know what you mean. I made a post a few chapters ago in response to a lot of people who were saying "woah, he's korean 8man". He definitely has some similarities to 8man in terms of his willingness to self-sacrifice and desire for a best outcome but there are huge differences between them. At the end of the day, their situation is too different and 8man is a well read, witty intellectual while our mc here has a strong past of being bullied and only really knows fighting. I'm not putting our mc down though because he's in turmoil and 8man has been in turmoil himself. Both have their cons as individuals and we'll just have to wait it out to see what this randchat arc will end up as before making final judgment.
I think its mostly due to the cultural gap, korean series like this are littered with intense bullying and fist fights while its jap equivalents are more about isolation and chunni problems. Not to say the two don't overlap but their are common distinctions.
