The Girl, the Shovel, and the Evil Eye - Vol. 2 Ch. 8 - Secret

To all the "if you fall over 250 feet you'll die upon hitting water" people... there are verified records of people jumping out of planes, having their parachutes fail, fall over 3000 feet, and survive by landing in water. Not just survive, also walk away effectively uninjured. Reality supersedes theory.

@Drifter
Colossal Fluffy Monster. . . Adult Lourié when, author?

@Elmithian
I thought snow and soft sand would be worse than water as there's usually now much "space" under it for you to go, but I guess it would disperse enough kinetic energy to make it survivable than water at the same height?
I totally forgot about trees.

@kaezeribato
That I know, but I meant at a height where the tension wouldn't *splat* your body the same way as the ground would if there would've a better alternative.
But the other comments gave good insight.

Thanks you all.

Thank god this hole had believable means of surviving.
I would even accept "her fur cushioned her fall", but this is quite nice.
But fucking hell, I'm glad she's ok and the whole situation was resolved quickly. Even if the unequipping tag thingy is bullshit.

I was prepared for him to spare the thugs considering the author is Nip. It was a pleasant surprise he didn't.

@monkey123
Depending on the altitude you are falling from, you do have some control over it in fact.

There is a great YouTube video about just doing this. "What to do if your parachute fails"
