As an idle thought, I think this is one of the only times I've seen something from Japan that is actually what I'm used to thinking of as "bittersweet".

(Like, normally in manga, "bittersweet" somehow gets used to refer to things where you end up bawling your eyes out crying and clutching at your heart, which is... not how I am used to that word being used elsewhere.)
