This is MC is alright, she actually has a past worth mentioning that she wants back, is trying hard to get to it despite limitations and doesn't automatically like her new "family" because to her their just strangers impeding her from getting home to the people she loves. This is how you make a protag, someone with a goal even if its a detriment to the characters around them until something forces them to stop and change goals or accept the situation.

Not sure what happened but the stuff about the fairies afraid of her losing control on her magic came true. My guess is she's trying out a theory on getting back to her previous world and caused a severe magic explosion. But despite the damages she caused, her parents forgive her. They still love her and accept her for who she is. She's touched and accepts her new parents and identity.
I just hope the damages aren't too bad. Otherwise her parents may forgive her, but I know some readers won't.. including me lol
