The Knight and Her Emperor - Ch. 21

I knew it! That's what happened to me when I was in the army... I was sitting at a table reading in peace and the next moment three men stormed the room and took me with them. Turns out they found out about my birthday.

Let me get this straight, so the author just skipped the explanation for the result of the investigation, (ex. The mythical animal being a statue or marker or geographical map) and just went straight for the end of battle where the kid got promoted and they won the siege? Or did I simply missed a page?

Anyway, I thought the forced escort wasn't somehow serious (it seemed for comedic reasons somehow). But when I saw they also kidnapped the kid, I thought it was another scheme like they wanted to interrogate them for information/tactic for the war... Then they said it's for welcome party. That was a ride

Did we... did we skip a chapter or something?? How did they cross the river and conquer the kingdom???

so, what was the point with showing us the investigation if the entire attack was skipped in the end?

I think the artist is skipping certain details in the comic so we all read the novel version... :7 but the novel is behind the comic translation wise

I'm seriously considering dropping this manhua. You just don't skip the most important parts of the arc. TWICE at that.

@BananowyJE I agree with ya on that. I just feel like I kind of need to see it through. I mean at the rate its going, it's like almost over or something isn't it?

LOL a surprise party? Also... The author did it again?? Totally just brushed past the fighting/war?? Was this because the source material didn't mention it or was this a conscious choice of the artist??
Many thanks

@rockiNangeL

I mean they aren't expecting you to read the English translation but the Korean one. It makes perfect sense when you think about the fact that we are not the intended audience

Fhfhfhf hazing the most terrifying knight! This should be interesting....

Also tbh I'm here for the romance, there's no 'action' tags on this series. Covering the battle would have been like 5 updates, and our main character isn't part of the fighting forces right now. The point of the investigation was to show the main character earning her position through hard work again, and building up the sense of the kings trust in her paying off.

The battle is only 'the most important part' if you assume that the war is the plot of this story. But like. The romance is the plot of this story, and we already know the King doesn't even realize his own feelings until the war is over; which is when I imagine their actual *romance* will properly kick off.

So, really, this whole war sequence is mostly starting the slow burn.

I understand being frustrated if you expected a different story (IE an Action War Story), but. *gestures* I wouldn't be surprised if we do see some battle scenes later, like once the main character is at a point where she'd be at the Kings side.

Big brain time: 'Let's capture the knight that fought off a group bare handed for (I believe it was) three hours (back when she was wounded and tired).

Genius.

Oh look she's back being the secretary... a knight who can kill everyone's ass is handling loot. Author is legit an idiot. Personally picked by the king and knighted at the same day and yet she handles the loot. I didn't know knights do baggage handling, that's new to me. So much potential, just pissed down the drain, lol.
