I'm quite thankful that the author didn't trope it up for the sake of prettying Pauliana up, though it's not like I'm adverse to it (Casca from Berserk is pretty excellent); it just doesn't suit Pauliana at all.

Mind you, the "king's" plan was shortsighted and foolish. Easily dealt with.

Knew she had a sword under the dress. Only explanation for her waddling despite knowing how to dance both the male and female parts. Don't understand why she bothered with a wig though, any ideas? Wonder if the champions were poisoned, locked up, or getting celebratory food and drink with music to keep them from knowing what's going on in the main hall until the emperor and others there are dead?

I’m so relieved that Paulina didn’t somehow lose all her muscles and become super sparkly when she came into the he ballroom!!! I hate it when authors do that to female knights. Ahhhh I love Paulina sooo muuuuch

this chapter is so good and that cliffhanger! it kinda made sense now why she was walking like a constipated gorilla 'cause she was hiding weapons! either that or she stabbed the previous king with a very sharp butter knife lol

AAYYYYY guess she had a good reason to gorilla-shuffle across the ballroom i also find it funny that she makes it so clear and obvious how uncomfortable walking around with hidden knives is, when i'm so used to people walking so gracefully with 5 knives strapped to their thighs (also can i just say, seeing the scars on pauliana's collar-neck area is a nice touch!)
