I imagine this boss transforming into a massive teddy bear tsun-tsun over the kids in the town and establishing order in secret! Yes—the dungeon boss shall soon be drinking with the town's folk at the pub and when some Big-Bad villain tries to go Kefka with the local water supply, the entire Labyrinth will sudden descend upon the invading army whence it will be smote.

Yeah, I'm writing my own story with that, but I enjoyed the trope with The Devil Is A Part-Timer and would enjoy seeing it here. :3

@aerozext If the boss joins the protagonist's "clan", LOL!, I wouldn't want to be the sleezy noble—especially, if said boss/sentient protector/sentient guardian falls for the siscon's little sister.

Would that result in too much "angst"?

[Idiot Noble is dragged into the Labyrinth in order to ensure unimaginable suffering as monsters disect him & heal him in repeated succession in order to dole out sufficient "justice" for "their lady".

Kinda disappointed by the way they disregarded safety in this. Nothing prevents them from going back, stocking up on more supplies and going back after they recovered, and he certainly won't have to "give up on his dream" if they do that. No reason to keep going like this. But I bet all will be willy nilly cos this is isekai
