Well damn. I was thinking this would just be an interesting chapter that will push off the more interesting things till the next, like an annoying cliffhanger, but nope. Just throws the reader off the cliff with the characters.

Love it. I think the only time I've been this thrown off is from reading Snowcrash (highly recommend this book - and Seveneves), which is a rollercoaster from beginning to end.
