I've heard people use sabre, rapier, falchion, katana, nodachi, etc to address the specific sword, but everyone agreed that it is, in fact, a sword. How do you even describe a sabre? a single edge sword, wouldn't you? otherwise, if every blade with only one edge is a sabre, then the fillet knife in my kitchen would be a sabre.
