this is the first time i've heard of the fairy tale and for now, I can't really see why the main character (the guy) seemed taken with it because there's nothing special with the fairy tale, at least to me. Maybe it has something to do with the lady in his memory tho and will be explained later.

In the real version of the fairytale there are 2 princesses, sisters. One of them is dumb but pretty, while the other is ugly but smart. The dumb one is jealous of the attention the ugly one gets. The Prince picks the hot one and the rest is as it is said in this chapter.
