Right now, he's just 'a lunatic' to them. But if he keeps them all alive. And then does it again. He'll become worshipped by his people. And while nobles have a lot of power, there's a lot more power behind fervent devotion than most give credit for.

I'm expecting that when the numbers start to rise, they'll try to take this area away from him. And that won't sit well, lol.

It's nice to see a protagonist who isn't really good with words, for once. He has all the other skills he needs to succeed, but when it comes to running his own land, he's just "believe my magic mark, or if that's not enough, just call me a tyrant, I don't care either way."
