Honestly... I'd give up too.
Like if it was sound based writing where you just have to memorize a new alphabet and spelling, sure that's doable. But memorizing 10.000 freaking symbols??? Nope.

It’s fine to be lazy and all that but she’s crossed the line, she should at least try not to be a burden and to adapt. That just made me dislike her (it’s my opinion)
