I'm gonna assume that part of why he's treating her so well despite the betrayal is the phoenix's cloak she just got. It's his treasure so he knows the bit about it burning unworthy people to ashes is probably true, and despite her stabbing her own sister in the chest she's still in perfect shape, so there was probably a good enough extenuating reason for it.
