The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen Who Will Become the Source of Tragedy Will Devote Herself for the Sake of the People - Ch. 5

I don't know if I understood correctly but leaving your child aside for what she could possibly become doesn't make much sense, I mean, wouldn't it be better the other way around? paying more attention to her and prepare her to become a better person, right?

No doubt the way the mother has been treating Pryde is wrong and neglectful. I'm glad the mom admitted that she was wrong and like she said a failure as a mother. Hopefully now the mom will stop continuing this neglectful behavior and treat Pryde better with more love and attention. Hopefully they will become a big happy family later on in the series.

😔I just read the next chapter on Ichijinsha since it was just released....I SHOULDN'T HAVE! 😔
It's published monthly so I suggest waiting a few months to read this manga until more chapters are released (unless you actually like torturing yourself).
😭Just when it's getting good! 😭😩

The first enemy has appeared, time to begin counter measures.
Your majesty with divinations they are never set in stone. It flows like a river so it will change its course, have multiple branches, and so on...

So basically the queen gave up being a mother to pryde because she saw that pryde would become a tyrant in her visions.

Instead of being a mother, guiding and teaching pryde not to be a selfish asshole to avoid the horrid future. She just gave up. She's kinda irritating.

It's like a self fulfilling prophecy.

Her relationship with the sis is looking pretty good, I hope it'll stay that way since it looks cute (with the hugging and all)

Reality check. OG Pryde was a manipulative psychopath, with zero human empathy. At age eight she tricked a kid into a slave contract and then used that to have him murder his own mother for fun. That's monstrous, and it's only the first of her crimes that we're aware of.

As far as we are aware there is no cure for psychopaths. There is no way to give them a sense of empathy or right or wrong. You cannot treat them, only contain them.

While OG Pryde's mother may have been distant with her, she had a father who doted on her. She was not, as far as we can tell, violently abused as a child. If despite this she was willing to go from 0-to-"Have my adopted brother murder his beloved mom for fun" the moment her father died, there is nothing her mother could have done to save her - beyond ensuring Pryde never had the power to act on her impulses, which is what the Queen was trying to do.

...if I know Japanese shoujo stories at all, the mom gets instantly forgiven doesn't she? That's going to be infuriating.

@EffigyX it's naiveté that comes from literature, the idea of everything has a causation. People want to believe that a bad person action can be explained, that there's a "deeper" meaning and driving force to someone being bad. But in reality there are people who can be treated as nicely as humanly possible and still grows up into a piece of shit. The mother isn't exactly an exampelar parent, but Pryde wasn't exactly a tragic heroine either.

Is the prime minister the game writer or something?
It's also nice to see the father seems suspicious of him too.

"Having a parent as a capture target is definitely way more adventurous..."
Adventurous is an understatement 😅

That is the exact sort of mother daughter relationship setup that I never want to see mended.

"Well I've foreseen that my daughter is going to grow up to be a bad person. You know what's definitely going to help and prevent anything bad from happening? Emotionally abusing her by completely neglecting her and effectively estranging her from infancy. Man! Being a Queen is easy when you've got precognition and can blame being a shitty parent on future prophecies."

She can piss right off with that shit and her self-pity party. Heaven's sake, she didn't even try.

Her mother sucks. Think about it. Pryde knows the future and is taking steps to address it. Her mother can do the same thing and instead...just looked at her as a lost investment. She never even tried. Good thing Alberts still around. He clearly is the glue holding this family together, and he never gave up on Pryde.

It really makes you think that maybe the reason why Pryde became a tyrant person in the near future because she didnt receive any motherly love

I still hate her mother and of course the prime minister as well. I can't see the queen regretting about her actions, Idk abt the future (if she'll be a better mom) but at least now she's not redeemable at all. She's not even try to talk to Pryde personally to apologize or have a mother-daughter talk after a long time. And for the prime minister, I wonder how he could ended up in that position, judging without base like that is utterly foolish. *SIGH*

(Edited)
When I said "I can't see the queen regretting her actions (decision to ignore Pryde and doesn't give a damn to try guide Pryde to be a better person unlike her so called prophecy)" I MEAN sure she said she's a failure as a mother, she did said that but her action? Nah.. it's more look like she's taking it lightly. Which makes me, hates her more.

And for prime minister, sure Pryde used to be a cheeky kinda naughty kid, causing troubles here and there. But hello? She was a KID!! Her mother doesn't give a damn, her father wasn't always by her side too. WHO'S GOING TO CORRECT HER ABOUT RIGHT OR WRONG? She's a princess which has HIGHER standing so people around her won't be bold enough to scold her. Tell me how she's supposed to learned that? From book? Really? Learning soacial skill solely from book? *Snort*. He's not wring to judge but he needs to put other factors to his judgement.

(I'm sorry for ranting)

After read some comments here, I want to add a bit more. And yeah still hate the mother Idc about any thoughts that defend her, at this rate it's almost impossible to think that she's redeemable.

About Pryde being psycopath, sure it's incureable, but psycopaths also have feelings (read here: https://www.psychiatrictimes.com/view/hidden-suffering-psychopath). It's said that her mother used to spoiled her rotten, but it doesn't mean she had to completely get rid of her affection towards Pryde. A normal human being would even question if someone who loves you very much turns completely cold the next day. That just made Pryde have Trust Issues. Or makes her trust issues worsened. So does her action will make it any better? No the opposite instead.

And also if spoiled her rotten is the problem you should have controlled your emotion more not abandoned you daughter. It's as if the queen is blaming Pryde instead, bcs she's spoiling her. WHAT A GOOD MOTHER INDEED

It's a little frustrating that this manga is following the trope of "having knowledge of future events and passively accepting them as unavoidable". She's already diverged wildly from the original time line nut she's convinced that somehow it's all going to happen the same way. It makes no sense that she would think that, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out that NOT forcing someone to slay there own mother greatly changes their feelings toward you. Like what's your motivation for changing any of the events if you think that they must happen anyway? It's forced melodrama, almost a plot hole, and I just want to see one protag that doesn't passively accept their fate in these things.

Bakarina is endearing enough to pull it off, but seeing it over and over again is wearing it thin.
