Who the hell cares if he is "up and coming politician"? And even if that was the case, you could have grabbed her hand when she managed to grab a hold of you, you horrible horrible person.

What you did was
A) Hiding the evidence of manslaughter turned murder
B) Remqin silent about attempted assault (it was quite likely that their intention was form of lynching or physical assault of some kind when they approached her as a group)
C) Murder. Plain murder. Atl the guy has the excuse of having pushed her away in self defense (hence manslaughter), you have none. Not a single excuse.
