@Beregorn Pretty much, and sadly way too common in every form of media. And the opposite is true as well, antagonists letting protagonists go with a slap on the wrist so they can come back and foil their plans after finding the macguffin of power.

@AHomicidalTelevision I know what you mean. I think it's just because of how short the chapters are, the mangaka has to cram as much into a single chapter as possible, for whatever reason it doesn't seem like they can just extend the page limit.
