The New Gate - Vol. 1 Ch. 3

The MC has a surprisingly pushover personality for someone who was trapped in a death game and then had the rug pulled from under him right when he thought he had saved everyone, including himself.

@Kaarme

It seems to be less "pushover" and more "easy-going", which, to be honest, is quite refreshing. Having a high-strung MC gets old quickly (unless it's played to the hilt for comedy).

@DragonMaus It's undoubtedly partially if not largely being easy-going, but seeing how he was just saying he doesn't want to be interrogated by the guild master, yet the very next moment he was in the man's office handing over the letter of introduction obediently like a school kid called to the principal's office. Then they even proceeded on to who knows what training facility, all according to the guild master's wishes, without the MC daring to protest at all. I'd say he's a pushover as well as easy-going. I would define it as not standing firm when he has made a decision or at least after he had let others think he had made a decion or voiced his intentions. While it's stupid to be overly proud and arrogant, you should also show some restraint when being ordered around, lest you will find people taking advantage of you.
