God, so pointless, I'm curious about why this manga have 8.5 rating

To be fair, the story has it's strong points and avoids some common pitfalls. I'm not saying you can't enjoy this. Personally I like it more than any of the revenge-wank manga with unbelievable cartoon villains that totally aren't a stand in for that one girl who called you a gross booger-eater seven years ago and you've just been NURSING that rage baby.

Also manga form alleviates some of the long winded chuuni skill gumbo, so that's nice.
