The Princess in the Dumpster - Ch. 13

@Anime2001
Yea, but the mom (presumably) didn’t give birth immediately, there’s about a nine month countdown for making plans for the child there. and a mother shouldn’t be left alone during childbirth anyway. All I can say with the information I currently have is that the dad, whether intentional or not, abandoned his child, and cookies and protectiveness now don’t really atone for that fact.

@jennydude-

The reason why he couldn’t even do that is because, the mother’s special trait in her race took affect as soon as she gave birth to MC. The father, who suddenly got an important report took a step outside to recieve it promising to come back quickly before she gives birth. But due to that small decision, he missed the time that MC’s mother gave birth and immediately forgot her due to the mother’s special ability from her race. So he can’t even do anything when he forgot her existence due to a magic he cant even prevent.

I'm so used to an apathetic and cold father in these types of stories (esp when in the start of the story) but it's so refreshing that he's caring from the get go. If it we're the usual dad tropes then he probably would be curious, but not so desperate to have the child accept him.

I love thiiiiis thanks so much for all the chapters!

A kind dad making understandable moves in a series like this?
What kind of black magic is this? I thought all fathers in these series had to be aloff or cold or distance? What is this warm and kind and smart individual doing in a series like this?

Haha, love the emperor more now. Making sure to take things slowly, as to not to scare her any further. Such a caring dad.

dads in alot of stories are ether pervs,cold , disappear to go on long vacations because of plot, etc

Everyone's shitting on the emperor, but so far he's been great. Specially if you compare him to others. It wasnt his fault he forgot about her mother, but a trait of her kind.

Go back to the icy lake, Kelpy.

@jennydude- So, what should he be doing instead, huh? As I see it, he's doing everything he can. If the mother was a mistress/concubine, it's entirely possible she wanted to live in a separate house. And that separate house was a mansion, no less, so it's hard to claim the emperor would have treated her poorly. However, the moment she died, everybody immediately forgot she ever existed. So, all servants in that house would have also been left wondering what on Earth they were doing there. Eventually they would have been relocated.

@Kaarme I think it mentioned in a previous chapter that Estrella's mom was sensitive to sounds. Which was why she lived in a secluded mansion. There was also something about the Emperor ordering that everyone leave the mansion except for midwives while she was giving birth (for stress reasons or something?)

I read the novel, and I think there's a good reason why the dad need to left the mother for a while during childbirth, but seems like they skipped it here. Or was it my memory playing with me .-.
