Ouch... Maybe it's just me and my modern viewpoint but I would hate having to fight other women just for my husband's affection. Id rather not be married at all than to suffer all that jealousy and stress. Plus this is the palace we are talking about where the competition is often out to kill you and your children to become queen. No hot man is worth this fight.

I get he's the Emperor and it's expected of him to have a harem and take concubines to strengthen his power and all that stuff. But there was probably another way to handle things with his queen, surely she didn't become like that for no reason.
Well it's always the same scenario anyway with this type of stories

Women in many cultures back then had no choice but to fight with other women for a man’s approval, since the only way to have status, stability, or value as a female possession was through a man. But as someone who believes a woman is her own person and not the objectified offshoot of her father/husband/son... Qing Tian’s situation makes me nauseous. I’m more than a little annoyed the author is making it seem like she hit the jackpot or something.

She’s regarded as one of his many possessions, and it’s supposed to be natural for her to fight with the other women for his affections. Yuck. And to make it worse, he had promised she would be his one and only.

And! She’s trapped bc she already has a son/heir with him. She can’t just be “abandoned” by her husband and live peacefully bc the other women will try to kill her son.

This is such a crap situation. Poor Yi Wen.

Not to mention the queen already birthed a first prince so there really isn't a need for other chicks in the first place...... I'm just wanting to know if she spends most of her time fighting a stupid harem to raising her kid.... I'd drop it if it's the harem....

And for everyone asking, from what I’ve seen of the raws, it will focus a lot on her fighting with the other women in the harem.

I usually dislike the whole emperor/harem story, but I really like this one and don’t find the harem bothering me because so far it seems he only truly loves his queen.
