Wouldn't a normal assumption from the other concubines talking there be that he punished An because she tried to murder a concubine the empress dowager just chose for him the other day? If not it'd look a bit like he was might have been behind it to spite the empress dowager. Even if she only chose a slave to screw with him, it's still something she chose for him and she kind of has most of the cards it sounds like.

If he was ruthless he would have killed An. However I do not think he is warm on the inside either. He is spoilt, but again he his kinda fair. I can't read him.

the art is nice but the story is not concrete enough in each chapter :'(

agree with ling, the emperor is hard to read... but i believe he got daddy issues lol like most of ruthless male character

@crimony agreed, I've only read this far because of the art, which is absolutely stunning... I think I might drop it though, the story just isn't gripping me
