The Quiz

More survival horror.. Count me in. Althought i can already guess some plot developments

If it's good enough for Nameless to translate it, it's good enough for me to read.

Popular host (with masochistic/sadistic streak?) Check.

Typical MC and girlfriend/really nice friend combo who bonds just before they die/win? Check.

A method to prepare death if rules are not followed? Check.

Smart guy(s) and gal(s)? Check.

Sporty athletic guy? Check.

Random chick death to start? Check.

This is like a sped up version of Battle Royale.

No matter how many times I read this sort of manga I never get tired if it.
Each time its the exact same thing with a shiny new coat of paint on it, yet somehow I'm invested each time.

Too formulaic, no distinguishing or particularly interesting characters, and very little character development.

People die, but the story gives you no reason to care. I barely care about the main characters, and the rest of the cast has nothing to them. They should have cut the number of characters in half and spread out their deaths so that each character had some development before they died. The puzzles aren't that satisfying to see solved either.

Also, while the story would naturally be about showing people at their worst, it doesn't really go much further than, "Ah, I don't want to die, so I'll screw everyone else over instead". Which I guess makes sense, but it hasn't ever gone deeper than that. At the very least, if people are going to be terrible, make it more dramatic when they turn out to be terrible.

... First chapter... 6/10
... Couple chapters later 8/10!
... Final chapter... 4/10... -*-

That was pretty okay. It's a good premise, it just feels a little squandered and rushed here. The ending was pretty depressing, in a good way. I hope it inspires someone to do a similar story, just much, much more fleshed out than this was. Honestly, this would have been a lot better in some sort of short-story collection like so many horror manga do.

This would be a very good movie. It reminded me the Cube and the Island mixed together, but I agree that it was a bit too formulaic
