I was on the fence about whether or not to pick this one up, but this chapter sold me on the story. I think having Pasakalia providing honest support for Ebigail provided the much needed seed of hope in what could have been an entirely cynical and depressing story.

I hope it turns out good for the Empress, she basically lost all her family and lost the daughter she was not allowed to care for because she'd be assassinated otherwise.
Hopefully our FMC will be able to become a 'daughter' to the Empress and save her soul on the way so she won't suffer too much.
