the way i understood everything is that "Beatrice" is actually the original Raeliana, and our "Raeliana" is Beatrice, and OG Beatrice's soul is linked with the Duke, so no matter the body, he would fall in love with OG Bea, so i feel a little bad for OG Rae since she's fated to fail no matter what she tries to do.
