Umm is it just me or did they added/changed some stuff from the novel? Like Gong Jue being addicted to the feeling of killing (in the novel, i think it was just mentioned that he killed his way through), the emperor having a plunging neckline whilst being fed by beauties (i also think the emperor in the novel was like a super serious dude)
