That is the draw. Many isekai, this one included, are simple escapist fantasies meant to appeal to people who feel like they have no control over their own lives and/or feel incredibly overworked. Failed a test at school or made a mistake at work? Insert yourself into this MC who almost literally cannot fail because he's so powerful. Too busy/nervous to get into a relationship? Here's an MC that draws women to him like flies to honey, so imagine what you'd do in his shoes.

Congratulations. You just denied several popular genres the rights to existence, among them slice of life, documentaries, biographies, comedies...

Not everyone likes forced drama, tragic death and mind-wrecking tension. If you like stuff like that, go and read a manga from a horror genre or the like. I read this, and stories like this, for a simple reason...To relax. So long as it has a decent flow and a happy-go-lucky vibe, it's a fine time-killer to fill in between stress at work and sleep. And I'm not the only one. The lone fact of how popular romcoms or comedy series are shows that there's a lot of people that just want to lower down in the thinking department and just watch something light now and then.

I apologise for not listing literally every single point of interest a series can possibly have when giving examples. Slice of life quite often has fluff, documentaries/biographies have information, comedies have humor, etc. And lmao @ "forced drama", did you miss the past few chapters?

I'm currently re-reading the Belgariad, which is a fantasy book series that's as tropey as they come. It's the "zero-to-hero farmer boy" trope, a fantasy journey of chasing the magical doodad with an adventuring party made up of a wize wizard grandpa, a big gruff heart-of-gold barbarian dude, the sly thief, the princess, etc. It's a run-of-the-mill children's book series, but manages to be entertaining thanks to the character interactions. Hell, the writer (Eddings) basically rewrote the same story 4 times (more or less, 2 of them have a different protagonist) and they still manage to be an enjoyable read.
