@theilikepie Well most isekai is wish fulfillment escapism. Usually the MC has a horrible, monotonous, mundane life then DIES and is magically transported into an interesting fantasy. Also in shoujo, the cannon fodder stories are almost always tragedies in the perspective of the cannon fodder. Most people don't really sympathize with them, if the author does their job, most people cheer the cannon fodders downfall. Usually you are supposed to think it serve them right or they got what they deserve or some other un-complex thought that fails to humanize the "bad guys"

1. If your fantasy nobility setting doesn't involve love, betrayal, and dramatic demises, you're not using it to its full potential.
2. Dark, painful backstories are near and dear to the hearts of many women because we were drawn to Tales of Dramatic Woe when we were little girls and it's hard to grow out of that entirely. (If your princess tea parties didn't involve secret plots to poison the queen, dramatic revelations of parentage, evil sorceresses, or anything like that, then you weren't any little girl I knew. My sister and I played out our courtly intrigues with Megablox dragons. Good times, good times.)

I'm guessing 1st prince is going to be in the Knight Academy and is the true male lead now that 2nd prince is avoided, given how otome isekai plot usually is. I kinda wanna see a new idea for otome isekai that's more isekai 1st otome 2nd with more shounen, magics, wars, adventures and high fantasy elements, and this series could be it?
