I get this is meant to be a comedy, but I almost feel like it'd be funnier if the new octopus mage was female. She'd probably be seen as more perverted than a guy using the same magic, so having her using them with a completely innocent-looking face would have a better contrast. It just seems like there's a missed potential here.
