@Liquidxlax i would guess it's because he could be confused for a real hero if he were left alive and could even "steal" human resources that would be needed for the real hero, as some might remember him as the hero.

The reasoning was probably that having a "fallen hero" is just a really bad look for the kingdom, better kill him to cover it up and pretend he died whilst fighting evil.

Can't afford to acknowledge that the kingdom both placed their trust and (probably) poured a ton of resources into a hero that ended up breaking his own holy covenant and turning evil.

@BusinessGL Definetly not because they're two faced. Two faced means being deceitful, trying to act nice infront of someone while saying bad stuff about them behind their back for instance.
For cats not liking you, that could have different reasons, the dog scent could be one reason but cats are usually not the most trusting animals and are normally cautious around strangers, body language can also sometimes do something (they don't like long staring and long eyecontact for example). But you say that they hate you, what do you mean with that, do they just avoid you or are they reacting more extreme? (Because avoiding someone they don't know/don't trust is normal behaviour)
