the kind of character brought it as a black velvet background to help make the MC look shiny like a diamond on that velvet. He's the utterly selfish scoundrel who has seven or so girlfriends from various local schools in order to satisfy his wandering desires, utterly uncaring how they feel about things. If he were just a bit more selfish, he would become an astronomical entity and turn into a black hole.

So is there a difference in how Shiro is pronounced compared to Shirou? Because here I was thinking they were pronounced the same but the characters just seemed to understand right away. Or is it that he used to say Shirou with a male honorific and that just wasn't included in the translation?

Edit: After reading the spoilers posted earlier in the comment thread, I now think no one is best girl and this series is an absolute joke. I'll probably read until the new girl shows up just for the art and then drop it. Wow what a mess.

@Polo TL here, there wasn't a male honorific attached to "Shirou" in the raws. Agree that "Shiro" and "Shirou" are pretty close, but there's a subtle difference in how long you say the "ro" I guess; drag it out a bit longer and "Shiro" becomes the MC of Fate stay/night.
