The Saint's Magic Power Is Omnipotent - Vol. 1 Ch. 3.1 - Cooking

Right. And now this joins the throng of at least 80% of isekai with the superior Japanese cooking thing. At least reading plenty of isekai has taught me Japan has a deeper inferiority complex than I'd have otherwise imagined.

Perhaps the food doesn't have much seasoning. As a southeast asian myself, food with less seasonings don't taste so good in my tongue. And well, she did say she's picky, so she might be just simply picky about food, regardless of Japanese or not. I'm the same (laughs).

The problem is less that Japan's food is superior. The problem is that nobody in this world has been making seasoning out of anything else besides salt and vinegar so far. How little do these people care if they aren't experimenting with their food at all even if their profession is something like a chef? It shouldn't be a problem of lack of materials, since the herbs are all things she's familiar with.
