@SmartBirb seems so, they never really mention if it's male or female, but "Alex" is usually a male's name after all (the way he keeps getting between Julia and Dan also gives me that feeling haha).

In reality, a young woman being infatuated with an older man is not that rare, there’s a reason it’s a trope in fiction. The important thing is that the man recognizes the situation and behaves appropriately. I guess time will tell, but to my eyes it looks like Elio does just that.

@zeroxjac There isnt even that much of an age difference. The kids are what, 10 or 12 years old? Dad could still be in his late 20's or early 30's. If dad was 15 when he had Dan he'd be 25-27, which isn't that far away from the girl
