The people don't feel real at all, like the drawer doesn't know or can't portray basic emotions.
One thing's for sure, chinese comics are power fantasies. Some are still good, but comics like this one feels like the artist has not seen real emotions his entire life. I wonder how life is over there.

I have a feeling that this manhua adaptation of the "Swordsman" is from the version where Dongfang Bubai is a woman and one of the love interests, like that recent adaptation TV series years ago.
Many details are changed a lot from the original though. And the art looks like our xianxia or xuanhuan genre than wuxia, it looks far more fanciful than other versions of the "Swordsman".
