Look, I know it's this kind of story, and it's fine and all, but just once I want a character who pulls something like Latio - who betrayed his best friend and caused the destruction of her country - to face actual tragic consequences, like finding out she was killed during the riots or by her family or something. I understand why he did what he did, he chose his people and for good reason, but the fact is that she was always there for him and he straight up stabed her in the back, ditching her in an incredibly dangerous situation for someone in her very weak political position.
They are probably gonna make up and fall in love and fight the evil people hand in hand, bla bla bla, but I cannot help but think it'd be much more interesting to have him find out he actively caused her death, or that she now despises him for what he has done.
